Bar B Que Turkey Pizza



-3 cups all purpose flour

-1 Tsp salt

-1 Tbsp white sugar

-1 .25 ounce package Active Dry Yeast

-2 Tbsp Olive Oil

-1/2 Tbsp garlic powder

-1 cup warm water

Pizza Toppings:

-1 bushel of cilantro, chopped

-1/2 cup of olive oil

 -1/2 cup and 2 Tbsp Bar B Que sauce

-1 cup shredded turkey

-1/4 red onion, sliced into rings

-1 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella

-1/2 cup shredded gouda


-Preheat oven to 400

-Make dough: combine flour, salt, sugar, yeast and garlic powder in a large bowl. Mix in oil and warm water. Kneed dough for 10 minutes, sprinkling with flour to keep from sticking to bowl. Dough should be elastic and smooth. If too sticky, add more flour.

-Place dough in oiled bowl, coat and cover with plastic wrap. Let stand 30 minutes at room temperature.

-While dough is rising, make cilantro oil: in a food processor or blender, combine 3/4 bushel of cilantro (chopped) and olive oil and salt (to taste) until you have a thick puree. Set a sieve over a bowl, and pour the mixture into the sieve letting the oil drip into the bowl. Let it sit until the pizza crust is done.

-Uncover dough and cut it into 2 balls. Using a rolling pin, roll each into crust on a cookie sheet.

-After the crust is rolled thin, poke holes all around with a fork to help airate.

-Top crusts with the cilantro oil that's dripped into the bowl under the sieve. Bake pizza crust for 5 minutes to crisp.

-Take shredded turkey and coat with 2 Tbsp bar-b-que sauce. Set aside.

-Chop 1/2 onion into thin rings. Set aside.

-Once crusts are out of the oven, coat with 1/2 cup bar-b-que sauce. Top with onions, turkey, mozzarella and Gouda. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes.

-Bake pizzas in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until crust is browned and cheese is melted.

-Top with remaining cilantro. Recipe makes 2 medium pizzas.
