Economy Bites 'Mouth' Logo Economy Bites

A Long Overdue Update

First, I want to apologize for going so long without blogging and/or checking in. I know you guys have been wondering where we've been and what we've been up to. Let me answer a few of your questions.

-No, I (Allie) am not dead. I am alive and so is Omelette the cat.

-No, Daniel and I did not fall in love and run off together. Not to say the thought hasn't crossed our minds! (Joke)

-Yes, Economy Bites is stil alive. In a way. But unfortunately, Daniel and I have come to the decision to stop producing the show...at least for the time being. So, while the past 2 year's worth of episodes and recipes will still be available here, on our podcast, on HuffPo, YouTube, Blip.tv, TheNest.com, etc., there won't be anything new coming down the pipeline in the forseeable future.

And now to answer your new questions:

Q. Why? What happened? Things seemed to be going so well!

A. Well, that's true. It was great! And thanks to you, our amazing, amazing fans, we had an *incredible* ride upon which we reached heights we never imaged we would. We collaborated with some really talented people, created some  brilliant webTV (if I do say so myself) that's been watched millions of times, and, most importantly, brought you some PHENOMENAL recipes. But we realized that, after 2 years of supplementing our actual, money-making jobs with constant emails, scheduling, recipe testing, grocery-shopping, editing, blogging, networking and fundraising, we just burned out. Plain and simple.

Q. But what about me? I supported you, handed out your business cards, wore your t-shirts with pride and made your recipes. How can you just leave me?

A. This is the part where my heart breaks. This is why it's taken me so long to write this blog. Leaving you guys is the part that sucks, because your OVERWHELMING support and enthusiasm is what made working on E. Bites worth it. But the truth is I didn't feel it was fair for us to put out anything less then what you expected - hilarious shows, great recipes. And unfortunatey I didn't feel I could hold up my end anymore. I'd rather have you dissappointed in ME then in the show.

Q. What will happen to the show?

A. Nothing will happen to the show. In fact, the show is being seen by more people now then ever before. Over 100,000 a month!!

Like I said before, it'll still be available in all the regular channels, and you never know - it's still possible someone with the right influence at the right time might see it and want to buy it. It could happen!! But even if it doesn't, you'll still have access to all the episodes and recipes you love. And you can still contact us with questions and comments. That won't change. There just won't be anything *new*. So when your friend asks you for that perfect easy to make recipe that will last them all week, remember to send them our way!

Q. What's next for you, Allie?

A. Truth is, I don't know. It's back to boring, old regular life for now. But certainly I have a great body of work to use as a resume should I decide that hosting a show in the vein of Economy Bites is how I want to proceed, career wise. In fact, if you want to hire me, I'm totally available!!!

Q. And Daniel?

A. Daniel is the most amazing person on the planet. He's still making great web videos and he's got no shortage of people who think he's brilliant. So he'll be just fine.

Q. Anything else?

A. That's all I got. You have questions? Email us at [email protected], we'll be happy to answer.

Most importantly - Daniel and I want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU a million times. It has been an HONOR acting as your performing monkeys. It's been fun, challenging, exciting, exhausting and better then we coud have asked for, and that's all because of you. We can NEVER thank you enough for watching our little show. We're SO freaking proud of what we made together and we're even prouder that you enjoyed it.
